Fanti’s Brunello di Montalcino from the 1999 vintage was the top rated Brunello in Wine Spectator magazine, with a rating of 98 points.  The 2000 vintage was not as strong as previous vintages, but Fanti showed its strength and reliability in quality winemaking by producing a solid wine in unfavourable conditions.  When the conditions in Tuscany were as good as they were in 2001, the wine they made was outstanding - their 2001 Brunello was rated 96 points by the Wine Spectator.

Reviews: "Shows blackberries and dried flowers on the nose. Full-bodied, with lots of ripe berry and cream character. Rich and flavorful. Long and beautiful. It’s layered and vel vety. Seductive. Drink now. 5,610 cases made." 94 pts, JS. Wine Spectator

"Highly complex, with roasted meat, high toned-floral, dark spice, and surprisingly fresh fruit given the hot vintage, though this was selected from the estates highest vineyards at 300+ metres. Densely packed on the palate with fine power and length, fine grained tannins, vibrant acidity. Drink now - 2015." ** 90 pts, John Szabo, MS
