2006 Señorío de P. Peciña Tinto Crianza

2006 Señorío de P. Peciña Tinto Crianza

Varietals: 95%  Tempranillo, 3% Graciano, 2% Garnacha

Alcohol:  13%

Soil type:  Argilo-calcareous

Maturation:  Matured for 24 months in seasoned American oak before bottling unfiltered.

Tasting Note:  Lots of red berry aromas with fresh and dried flowers, vanilla and cured tobacco. These luscious sweet red fruit flavors are supple and expansive, with a distinctly old school character on the palate. Fine-grained tannins add structure to the long, silky finish. This is ready to drink and quite delicious.

Reviews: “Pleasant nose of cinnamon toast, cloves and freshly grated nutmeg along with bramble and bayberry. Palate is spicy but shows well-balanced and integrated wood treatment with plenty of dark jammy fruit such as blackberry and boysenberry.  A traditional and somewhat rustic style that exhibits above average complexity and concentration for a Crianza level wine. Drinking well now. Tasted June 2011.” 89 points, Sara d’Amato.

“The aromas are complex (herbs, ratafia, red fruit) with complexity.  On the palate, it is vigorous and powerful without weight, with an attractive, rustic touch that gives it personality.” (translated from Spanish) 14.50/20 Juancho Asenjo, Víctor de la Serna, Ernestina Velasco,  elmundovino.com
