2008 Pinot Noir Équinoxe

Varietal: 100% Pinot Noir
Reviews: “Bright ruby. Deep pungent aromas of cherry, black cardamom, violet and spicecake. Initially rather brooding but gains energy with air and picks up a brighter raspberry quality, along with a hint of candied rose. A zesty mineral quality kicks in on the back half and adds lift and precision to the long, spicy, seductively sweet finish. Give this some air or hold onto it for at least another three or four years. Made by Jim Sanders, who is Mortimer’s partner in Aubichon Cellars.” 92 points, (Josh Raynolds, Stephen Tanzer’s, International Wine Cellar)
“The 2008 Pinot Noir Equinoxe sports an expressive nose of black currant, plum, forest floor, and lavender that jumps from the glass. More layered and dense than its sibling, it is packed with sweet fruit, is mouth-filling, and potentially complex. Give this lengthy effort another 2-3 years of cellaring to fill out.” 92 points, (Jay Miller, http://www.erobertparker.com, Oct. 2010)
