Tasting notes: There are few varietal Cabernet Franc wines currently being produced in Australia, but those who do make it agree that McLaren Vale is well suited to produce one of Australia’s best. This wine is deep red in colour with perfumed cassis, herb and cigar box notes on the nose. This full-bodied Cabernet Franc displays an elegantly proportioned array of complex black fruit flavours given support by a hint of French and Russian oak. Dark forest fruits engulf the palate, with wonderfully balanced tannins on the finish. It is ready for immediate drinking, but will reward with further cellaring.
