Barbera d’Alba Vigna Majano DOC 2009
Varietal: 100% Barbera D’Alba
Tasting notes: Sourced from various high altitude vineyards in the Neive area (avg 320m asl), with south-west exposure, in calcareous clay. Vines average 15-30 years. Hand harvested in October. Fermentation and maceration in stainless steel tanks temperature controlled to 28-30C, then aged 10 months in large oak barrels, and a further 6 months in bottle. The wine is full-bodied and fruity with aromas reminiscent of cherry and cassis.
