Dolcetto d’Alba Falletto 2012

Dolcetto d’Alba Falletto 2012

Varietal: 100% Dolcetto

Alcohol: 13.0%

Production: 7,250 bottles

Sourced from the southwest/west facing Falletto vineyard in Serralunga, the grapes for this wine were meticulously hand-harvested. The wine fermented in stainless steel vats for 10 days, of which 7 days were of maceration. Malolactic was completed and the wine matured in stainless steel for 7 months and then a further 2 months in bottle before release.

Review: “From the Falletto property in Serralunga d’Abla, the 2012 Dolcetto d’Alba Falletto offers a beautiful vein of delicate mineral dryness that runs straight through the wine. Beyond that pretty accent are a long list of aromas including blackberry, ripe cherry, white almond and light shadings of exotic spice. Anticipated maturity: 2013-2019.

With the return of winemaker Dante Scaglione in 2011, the wines of Bruno Giacosa (-the genius of Neive-) continue to impress. Bruna Giacosa, Bruno-s daughter, has taken over daily operations at the winery since her father suffered a stroke in 2006” -  89 pts Monica Larner, Wine Advocate (Jun 2013)
