Varietals: 73% Touriga Nacional, 27% Cabernet Sauvignon

Soil type:
Very poor of schist or granitic origin

Aging: 16 months in French and Portuguese oak barrels and first four months in 100 % new barrels

Alcohol: 14.5 %

Viticulture and Winemaking: Hand picked and transported by cold truck in small harvest boxes. Spontaneous fermentation by wild yeasts. Post fermentation maceration of 21 days. Traditional fining with egg whites, likely to form a deposit.

Tasting notes / Review: Deep, rich violet colour. Attractive nose of crushed blackberries, overlying the warm woody notes of myrtle and toasted almonds, with subtle floral aromas. Full mid-palate of firm, ripe tannins, good acidity and a marvelous persistent finish. Gold

"New wave Portuguese red (from the producers of Sexy) that blends 73% touriga nacional and 27% cabernet sauvignon, which provides a beguiling nose of perfectly ripened cassis-mulberry fruit with rosemary, mint, chocolate, leather and mineral nuances. Full bodied, polished and dense and tense, with excellent length. Cellar 2012 to 2020+." 92 pts David Lawrason , Toronto Life
