Langhe Nebbiolo DOC 2009

Varietal: 100% Nebbiolo
Tasting notes: Sourced from various high altitude vineyards in the Neive area (avg 320m asl), with south-west exposure, in calcareous clay. Vines average 10-25 years, and are planted quite densely, at 6,000 vines per hectare. Hand harvested in October. Fermentation and maceration in stainless steel tanks temperature controlled to 28°-30°C, then aged 8 months in large oak barrels, and a further 2 mo in bottle prior to release. The nose is harmonious and shows a pleasant floral and fruit notes of roses and cherries. On the palate, this wine is fresh and lively with light acidity and a nice balance of tannins and alcohol, this wine is elegant with a long finish.
