Nigl Grüner Veltliner Gartling 2007

Varietal: 100% Grüner Veltliner
Maturation: 100% stainless steel for 3 months
Alcohol: 11%
Best drinking: Now - 2010
Suggested food: Enjoy with white fish, vegetarian dishes and mango chicken.
Tasting notes: Pale straw in colour, this young wine shows lots of fresh green apple and grapefruit tones, white peaches, lychee and some floral notes. It is just a touch off-dry, with a very slight refreshing and thirst-quenching spritz. More green apple and peach fill the palate, with fresh and balanced acidity and alcohol, carrying the wine through to a medium finish.
Review: "From a top Austrian producer, even this entry level Gruner shows great character and depth. The nose is still primary like it’s straight from the vat with sweet grass, basil and fresh stone fruit flavours. The palate is dry and fullish, with palpable tannins and dazzling acidity, leading to a long finish. This should drink well for the next 3-5 years." 89 pts, John Szabo, MS, Wine Access First In-Line eReport
