Pinot Noir 2004

Varietal: Pinot Noir

Soil type: Pigburn soil overlaid with Schist and uncemented gravels

Maturation: 10 months in 25% French new oak

Tasting notes / Reviews:  Black char, thyme and spice aromatics.  A warm, rich, ripe entry into the mouth, elegant and refined texture with a soft long finish.

Nevis Bluff is a Pinot specialist, making only two wines: a Pinot Gris and a Pinot Noir. With their Pinot Noir, they mature the wines for ten months in oak (25% new). This wine won a Silver Medal at the 2006 Air New Zealand Wine Awards. At fours year old, it’s rounding out nicely and will drink exceptionally well right now with veal tenderloin, or age it another 2 years.
