Soil type: Argillaceous schist

Maturation: In large French oak barrels for 12 months

Alcohol: 13%

Tasting notes / Reviews: Red rubin with light garnet-red tonalities. Sweet, delicate, ethereal, and fruity with sweet and spicy hints. Soft, firmly structured with sweet tannins very well balanced with its acidity. An aftertaste of fruity hints of berries married with spices.

"Fanti’s 2005 Sant’ Antimo Rosso offers up an attractive set of smoke, licorice, tar and ripe plum flavours on an expansive, generous frame. This soft, pleasing red is best enjoyed over the next few years. Best of all, it is a terrific value. Anticipated maturity: 2008 - 2010." 88 pts, Antonio Galloni, Wine Advocate
