Tasting notes: This Sauvignon Blanc is rich with layers of apple, melon, lemon-lime, grass, gooseberry, grapefruit and a hint of spice, wrapped with delightful mineral notes. It is complex, rich and fresh, with an explosion of well balanced fruit. It has a silky texture, balanced acidity and a clean, crisp finish.
Review: “Silver Fox is a subset of Nichols Winery in Paso Robles known for producing small lots focused on premium quality, most notably Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. this ripe and fragrant style Sauvignon Blanc from 2006 is holding up surprisingly well but its most definitely best for immediate consumption. Nose is bright with notes of yellow apples, hay and gooseberries along with brown sugar and melon. The palate exhibits delicate minerality, a touch of spice and plenty of rich fruit. Acids are rounded but balanced with an attractive, smooth and elegant texture. Purity of fruit is certainly at the forefront here and the wine is distinctive of a warmer climate Sauvignon Blanc. A gently but persistent finish. Tasted June 2011.” 88 points, Sara d’Amato.
