Viñas del Sol Meritage 2000

Varietals: Merlot 50%, Cabernet Sauvignon 29%, Cabernet Franc 21%
Soil type: Alluvial clay
Maturation: Aged in 100% French Oak for twenty-three (23) months. The wine is further aged for a minimum of an additional 12 months in the bottle. Aging in the bottle allows the wine to rest and round out its natural fruit flavour and aromatic attributes.
Alcohol: 13.8%
Tasting notes: This Meritage (Bordeaux Blend) shows lots of fruit, with an intense and velvety mouth-feel. The palate reveals ripe cherry, currant, plum, strawberry, blueberry and wild berries. The fruit is intertwined with hints of carmel, smoke and toast, overtop of complex earthy notes from careful bottle aging at the winery. The wine is distinctively elegant, rich, yet well-balanced and follows through with quite a long finish.
