Vitulus 2004

Vitulus 2004

Varietal: Cabernet Sauvignon

Maturation: 28 months in 10% new French oak hogsheads 90% older American and French oak barrels.

Alcohol: 14%

Tasting notes / Reviews: Darkest crimson and viscous when swirled in the glass. Berry fruit is ripe and perfumed with raspberry, blueberry and classic Coonawarra mint, these are complimented by vanilla and charry oak characters. Sweet blackcurrant, blackberry and dark chocolate flavours upfront and stalky/savoury characters at the finish. The structure is firm but not astringent - plush is an apt descriptor - and there is great length. Cellaring up to 5 years.

"The 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon “Vitulus” is similarly styled but more forward than the 2003. The tannins are softer and the wine is a bit less structured. It can be enjoyed now and will provide pleasure through 2020." 89 pts Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate
