Tolosa is nestled amongst the volcanic hills of San Luis Obispo County and is the frontier for the most complex cool-climate varietals in California; Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.

Vintner Robin Baggett returned to Edna Valley almost 40 years ago with a law degree and dreams of owning a cattle ranch like his grandfather. After discovering the unique climate of the transverse valley that extends from Morro Bay all the way through to Edna Valley, he knew that the land was destined for something more. Transformed by the cool Pacific Wind and hugged by the limestone soils of ancient seabeds, Edna Valley provides the most nurturing climate for concentrated, bright, and powerful Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes. Like Bourgogne, the classic region for Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, the valley has balanced hot days with cool nights, creating a perfectly temperate growing climate year-round.

Tolosa is named after the Mission San Luis Obispo de Tolosa and reflects the long history of winemaking in Central California, recently designated as the San Luis Obispo Coast AVA. Over 200 years ago, the friars at the Mission planted the first vineyards in the county, and today Tolosa carries on their legacy of winemaking.
