The lauded 2015 Brunelli have landed (+ other Tuscan gems)

Le-Ragnaie-harvest.jpg

2015 was a highly lauded vintage for Brunello di Montalcino, with many hailing it the top vintage of recent decades, and a few wines garnering 100 points from various critics. It’s a vintage of power and purity, thanks to a long growing season, with no extreme climatic events.

According to James Suckling, “2015 is a historical year for Brunello di Montalcino that nobody should miss. The wines show impressive precision of vivid fruit, fine tannins and freshness in acidity despite their ripeness and richness which makes them some of the most exciting in years. Nearly all the 2015 Brunello shows complex and beautiful aromas. It is not just ripe fruit when you stick your nose in the glass. The palates of the best show such fine-grained tannins. This wonderful harmony in the nose and palate makes the wines so approachable that you want to drink them now. However, these are Brunellos that will age beautifully for decades ahead making them historical in every sense of the word.”

We are fortunate to work with a few select Montalcino producers, showing diversity across region and styles. The one thing all of our producers have in common, however, is the utmost understanding and respect of their lands, and the unwavering commitment to quality.

We brought in a number of Brunello di Montalcino for the LCBO’s annual spring tasting event, and in light of its cancellation, we’re able to offer these very special wines directly to you.
