LCBO Releases November 2021 : Weingut Loimer

We're happy to have two new vintages of Weingut Loimer wines released in the LCBO this month. The 2018 Seeberg Riesling will be available in the CLASSICS release on November 4, while the 2019 Grüner Veltliner will be released in stores on November 13.

Weingut Loimer Seeberg Riesling 2018

"Ripe red apple, dried orange peel and sundried hay come together and make for a most resonant, appetizing nose. The palate has a gorgeously creamy, smooth texture, like melting, ripe red-apple flesh, that is outlined by the soaring purity of citrus oil. What a wonderfully concentrated, textured and individual wine. What effortless balance, what smooth, balm-like yet fresh joy. Drink by 2050." - 97 points, Anne Krebiehl, MW, Wine Enthusiast.

Weingut Loimer Grüner Veltliner 2019

Predominantly fermented and aged in large stainless tanks (5% in large oak barrels), this rested 4 months on lees before blending and bottling. Wet rock rules this bright, shining GV, with green apple, Asian pear, lemon rind streaming along the palate. Ample white pepper infiltrates the palate, already buzzing with soils. 2019 is said to be one of the top vintages of the past decades in Austria.

"Stone fruit, yellow apple and ripe peach with crushed ginger and a hint of grass on the nose. Apricot and ripe yellow apple on the palate, with tingling white pepper spices and herbal bitterness to provide complexity, followed by a long, grapefruit finish. It has been left on fine lees for 4 months after fermentation to add texture and depth. Drinking window: 2021-2023." - 92 points, Sylvia Wu, Decanter.
