NAPA VALLEY CABERNET: New World Masterpieces
LCBO Celebrates Napa Valley Cabernets with a Special Release

The LCBO brought in many special Napa Valley wines in advance of the Napa Valley Vintners tasting scheduled this fall in Toronto. Unfortunately, that popular event had to be cancelled, so the LCBO is releasing these rare wines online starting today with Napa Valley Cabernet : New World Masterpieces. We're proud to have three wines from our California producers in this special release.

Revana Terroir Series Cabernet Sauvignon Napa 2017

"A terroir series cabernet, but from no particular terroir other than Napa Valley ("select vineyard sites"), this is nonetheless dense and dark, firm and well balanced wine, with evident concentration and intense structure. Tannins are still quite fierce, but there's ample fruit in support, and in time, another 4-5 years I suspect, this should find inner harmony and balance. Additionally, there's genuine succulence and sapidity, a saline character that encourages another sip. Length and depth are also excellent. A very fine wine all in all, best after 2025. Tasted October 2020."

Appellation : Napa Valley AVA
Region: California, USA
Grape(s) : Cabernet Sauvignon
LCBO : 546176
Price : $145.00 for 750mL bottle

Revana Estate Cabernet Sauvignon Napa 2017

"Ripe, focused and pure, featuring a core of raspberry and red currant fruit, laced with tea, violet and anise notes. Shows a light tug of singed apple wood at the end. Approachable, but should be better with some cellaring. Best from 2021 through 2031. 1,450 cases made."

Appellation : Napa Valley AVA
Region: California, USA

Domaine Curry Cabernet Sauvignon Napa 2018

"Lots of chocolate and smoke with dried-berry and plum aromas and flavors. Full-bodied, layered and rich. But there's some tension and focus to the wine. Give it two or three years to soften. Better after 2022."
