Il Carnasciale Il Caberlot 2021 (magnum)

"The 2021 Caberlot is a wine of mind-blowing intensity, complexity and nuance. Red cherry, plum, orange peel, spice, licorice, cedar and new leather are some of the many notes that grace this exquisite, resonant wine. It's hard to remember many vintages in which Caberlot has this much fruit intensity, aromatic explosiveness and freshness. It is a riveting, absolutely stunning wine from the Rogosky family. Even with all of its intensity, the 2021 is not a huge nor opulent wine, but rather, it is the wine's energy and intense minerality that really stand out. I look forward to tasting this again in the future, as I may be underrating it. Drinking window: 2029-2041." 98+ points, Antonio Galloni, Vinous

Niepoort Colheita Tawny Port 2003

"The older Colheita in the market now is the 2003 Colheita Tawny Port, which still has some red tints and signs of youth. This was bottled in 2023 after 20 years in barrel. 2003 was a very, very warm year, and they kept the wine for a very long time because they never felt the wine was ready; so, it was bottled later and with more complexity. But again, it still feels younger than the 20 year old, and it is creamy, with notes of candied orange peel. Time in bottle should continue the refinement and bring more elegance to the wine, even though you cannot tell it comes from a very warm year. Drink date: 2024-2064." 94 points, Luis Gutiérrez, robertparker.com

Toro Albalá Poley Pedro Ximénez Dulce 2019

"The young sweet PX has also changed its name and image and comes with a glass stopper in half-liter bottles under the name of 2019 Poley Pedro Ximénez Dulce, a young sweet wine with 15% alcohol and 324 grams of sugar. It has a dark amber color and a nose of syrup, molasses and brown sugar, denoting youth. Drink date: 2022-2024. [This 2019 showed very well at our tasting and demonstrated the potential to drink for another 2+ years." 90 points, Luis Gutiérrez, robertparker.com

Barbeito 5 Year Old Malvasia Reserva Madeira

"Non-vintage Madeira is remarkably consistent from bottling to bottling (like NV champagne, or sherry), so little surprise that this latest bottling is as superb as the one I tasted 5 years ago. It's such a silly value for a 5-year-old Malvasia, with absolutely ripping acids reining in the caramelized sugars of Madeira, such a unique wine to be sure. Barbeito usually falls on the drier side of each style category, and again here, the sweetest malmsey comes across as a caramelized lime purée on the finish, relentless, uncompromising, almost dry. I mean, where does one find this kind of complexity and originality at $18? Makes no sense. Bring this out with the hard sheep cheeses at the end of the meal for a crisp and satisfying finisher.94 points, John Szabo, MS, Wine Align

On Seven The Devotion Chardonnay 2020

"100% estate fruit, certified Organic by Pro-Cert; mostly Clone 76 planted in 2014, with small percentages of Clone 95 (2015 planting) and Clone 96 (2018 planting). French oak barrels (20% new, 80% neutral) for wild yeast fermentation and 20 months aging. Coarsely filtered and bottled. Classic barrel selection resulted in the crafting of the flagship chardonnay from 2020. The Devotion is looking great at this stage, with some of the creamy character broadcast in The Pursuit, but a richer and harmonious style. More complete. More depth of flavour, too. Promises to age well - I can't wait to see 3, 4, 5 years of development, something I struggle to say about many 2020 whites. Remarkable." 96 points, Christopher Waters
