Brunello di Montalcino 2015
“Moderately saturated red. Musky nose combines sour red berries, tobacco, marzipan, and mint. Boasts outstanding inner-mouth perfume and focus on the palate, with lovely energy, and lift to the mineral flavours of sweet cherry and spices. Closes silky and long, with polished tannins (you really cannot tell this has been aged almost four years in oak). Outstanding Brunello. Drink 2023-2032.” - 94+ points, Ian D’Agata, Vinous, March 2020.
“Planted in the 1990s, Sesti's vineyards surround the 13th century Argiano Castle in the southern reaches of Montalcino. The sandy soil is rich in marine sediment and minerals and tends to give a profusely fragrant Brunello. While fragile garnet in colour, the 2015 is still very fresh and youthful. Aromatic Mediterranean herbs meet salty marine breezes. Inner-mouth perfume echoes the nose and offsets succulent cherry and plum flavours. Accessible, chalky-textured tannins frame the whole. Drinking Window 2020-2030” - 93 points, Michaela Morris, Decanter
