Podere Gagliassi is a family-owned organic winery in Monforte d’Alba, in the heart of the Langhe. Spread across 23 hectares in a single estate, since 2015 they have been producing authentic wines that express terroir, tradition, and sustainability, with a strong focus on Barolo from Serralunga d’Alba.

Nebbiolo d’Alba

From Serralunga d'Alba at 400-450m, this was fermented in stainless and aged in stainless and French tonneaux.

Alluring crushed florals on the nose carry through to the palate, with firm Nebbiolo structure, darts of iron, scrubby herbs, and long, finely firm tannins that finish with a dusting of pink pepper. Smart, fresh, modern.

This Nebbiolo comes from estate and purchased fruit in Serralunga d'Alba at 400-450m. After a stainless ferment, this aged in French barriques.

Ripe cherry, fragrant raspberry, tobacco is woven with earth, and wound with firm, sticky tannins, pinning this in through a pink peppercorn finish. Still good freshness from the ripe 2020 vintage, this is drinking well and with cellar time ahead.

"This fresh and focused Barolo shows dusty crushed-stone minerality, complemented by aromas of cherries, raspberries, orange peel and dried herbs. Medium-bodied and dry, it features fine tannins, a lightly chewy texture and a refreshing citrus character. Mineral-driven finish. Drink after 2027.” - 92 points, James Suckling
