Aphros
Vasco Croft is one of the pioneering biodynamic vintners in Portugal, and Aphros is his personal project. From Vinho Verde's Lima subregion, this loureiro spent time on skins before pressing into inox for fermentation and two months ageing on lees before filtration and bottling. Loureiro is showing some aged character here, with some honeyed notes wrapping around pine nuts, honeydew, apricot kernel and wet cement. While the wine isn't as vibrant as in youth, this current release shows an interesting lens for loureiro.
