Soralisa Bianco
This blend of 45% Vermentino, 45% Viognier, 5% Malvasia Toscana and 5% Trebbiano Toscano was from clay soils around 210-370m, and vines ranging from 10-30 years. It was fermented and rested in stainless on lees until the following spring.
Fragrant yellow fruits are met with fresh green herbs and crushed white peppercorns in this intriguing blend, one that buzzes along the palate to a snappy tangerine twist. Quite smart, and certainly unique, and a lovely choice for grilled calamari or fritto misto di verdure.
"Far from the Montalcino norm and not only because the Soralisa is a white wine, of 45 percent each vermentino and viognier, also with (five each) malvasia and trebbiano toscano. Somewhat of a unicorn for the place and the trend is moving towards "I Bianci" in these parts. Fanti’s chiming in makes for a rather interpretive take. Saltier and leaner than expected with the viognier somewhat silent in the mix. Feels briny and dry as the desert but all in all the wine is a joy to sip. Bring on the Pici al ragù di coniglio. Drink 2026-2028. Tasted January 2026." - 90 points, Michael Godel, WineAlign.com
