Ciù Ciù
Ciù Ciù
Marche, Italy
Ciù Ciù was founded in 1970 by Natalino Bartolomei and Anna Maria Iobbi, just a few kilometers from the legendary medieval town of Offida. Today, brothers Massimiliano and Walter Bartolomei continue their father Natalino’s fascinating work, instilled with his experience and wisdom.
The estate, which contains 130 hectares of vineyard, is situated in the middle of the production area of Rosso Piceno Superiore. The rolling hills of Offida provide both picturesque vistas and multiple slopes and microclimates. Fresh sea breezes from the east flow through the vineyards, keeping vines clean, and wines fresh. Wines are certified organic & certified vegan.

Merlettaie Pecorino
Merlettaie means lace, and the name of this wine pays homage to the lace workers of Offida, characteristic of these hills much like the Pecorino grape. From organic vineyards in Offida and Acquaviva Picena, at 280m, this was native fermented and aged in 25hL Slavonian oak barrels over a period of 8-10 weeks, where it remained for 6 months on lees prior to bottling.
Fragrant white peach, quince, lemon, and pine nut run along the stony palate, with a buzzy tangerine pithiness structuring, and a lingering salinity to the finish. Mouthwatering and smart, and an ideal partner to seafood dishes.

Bacchus
Bacchus is equal parts organic Montepulciano and Sangiovese, grown in mixed clay soils 300m on the Marche hills surrounding the towns of Offida and Acquaviva Picena, in Ascoli Piceno province.
This unoaked red is designed to be consumed in youth, with ample juicy ripe plum, blueberry and baking spice on the medium palate. Tannins are sticky, calling out for grilled sausages or lamb burgers.
"This is a blend of montepulciano and sangiovese made without any barrel works. It pours deep purple-ruby thanks to the montepulciano. The nose is quite lifted, grapy and mulchy with mulberry/blackberry with tarragon herbality. It is quite full bodied, dense and a touch sweet, but it works. Considerable energy, and lots of crusty montepulciano tannic grit. Very good length. Tasted Feb 2026.” - 88 points, David Lawrason, WineAlign.com
