Bodegas Hermanos Peciña is a winery founded in 1992 by Pedro Peciña, the former agronomist for La Rioja Alta.

The family farms sustainably farms 50 hectares of vineyards in Rioja Alta, tending care to their 40-60 year old vines growing at 500 meters at the foothills of the Sierra Cantabria Mountains. After hand harvesting and native fermentation, the single parcels are aged in older American oak barrels before resting for an extended period in the bottle prior to release. The winery is one of the only bodegas still utilizing the labour-intensive traditional trasiego system in the winery. Every six months the wine is manually racked using only gravity and decanting from barrel to barrel without agitation or pumping, thus very slowing separating the clear wine from the lees, and keeping the wine’s full character intact. These are thoughtful and current wines made with ample respect to Rioja’s historical winemaking traditions.
