Domaine Leroy
Domaine Leroy
Bourgogne, France
Domaine Leroy is arguably producing the greatest red Burgundy wines on the Cote d'Or at present. Lalou Bize-Leroy started out as a négociant, working for her family's Maison Leroy, which was founded by her father, Henri. There are three entities to the Leroy empire: the Maison Leroy based in Auxey-Duresses; the Domaine d’Auvenay named for Lalou Bize-Leroy’s own home near St-Romain, and the substantial Domaine Leroy in Vosne-Romanée. Lalou Bize-Leroy also owns a quarter of Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, where she was co-director until 1992.
The domaine has been farmed biodynamically from the start and is certified by ECOCERT. Lalou oversees 23 hectares of vines, mostly Premier and Grand Cru classified.
We are proud to offer Ontario a selection of wines. Quantities worldwide are highly allocated and extremely limited.

Maison Leroy
Maison Leroy
Bourgogne Rouge
From the legendary Bourgogne house of Leroy. One of the best values in this portfolio is the Maison Leroy Bourgogne level wines. Do not be deceived by the designation. While Lalou Bize Leroy never reveals the source of the grapes, it is known that these are usually grapes from villages and 1er Cru plots, and she blends each vintage to best represent her wines for that vintage. This is where Lalou Bize-Leroy spends her most energy; the Bourgognes are the real flagship wines of the house. From the elegant and cooler 2017 vintage, this shows bright cherry, black raspberry, seasoned with a dusting of sweet spice. Tannins are still tight and firm yet fine, and acidity is easily lofted through the gently humming, limestone-laced finish. Give this youthful pinot some time to open in your glass now, or better yet, cellar for a year or two.
