Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 2017. $89
Made from 20-30-year-old vines, the wine fermented over 25 days in stainless before aging 24 months a mix of 225L French oak barrels and 3,000L Slavonian oak vat. The wine then aged in bottle for 18 months prior to release.
“Aromas of red cherries, plums and pungent flowers follow through to a full body with medium chewy tannins that appear polished and creamy. Turns lightly dusty and savory with walnut and ripe fruit in the aftertaste. Drink or hold.” 92 points, James Suckling, November 3, 2021.
Brunello di Montalcino DOCG Vigna Le Macchiarelle Riserva 2013. $149
This Riserva is planted only in the best vintages, from grapes in Vigna Le Macchiarelle’s galestro soils, planted by Filippo Fanti in 1980. This ferments for more than 1 month before aging 2 years in 500L French tonneaux, and 30 months in bottle prior to release.
"This offers mellow, darker cherries on the nose with some woody elements and an array of dried spices. The palate has a rich, ripe and dense core of fresh and dried cherries, framed in fine, elegant tannins. Drink or hold." 93 points, James Suckling

The Tenuta Fanti estate has belonged to the Fanti family since the beginning of the eighteenth century. It extends across 300 hectares in Toscana, 52 hectares of which are specialized certified sustainable vineyards, 110 hectares are olive orchards, 80 hectares are used for seed plots, and 70 hectares are forests. In the early 1970s, Filippo Fanti became leader of the company, and refocused its direction towards high quality, starting with the soils. He sustainably replanted the vineyards and olive trees after a careful selection of the most suitable plots within the estate. In 2004, construction began on their modern and spacious gravity flow cellar for winemaking, ageing, and refinement. Tenuta Fanti aims to offer sustainably produced, high quality wines which express the terroir of Castelnuovo dell' Abate. His daughter, Elisa, reinforces his visions today.
