Artemis Karamolegos
Artemis Karamolegos
Santorini
Artemis Karamolegos is one of the most dynamic wineries on the unique island of Santorini. Led by his grandfather, who started making wine and cultivating vines as a hobby in the 1950s, Artemis founded the winery in 2004. They own just over 3ha of vineyards (some over 100 years old) across Pyrgos, Megalorchori, Exo Gonia, Akrotiri and Fira and have long-term contracts to farm another 5 hectares. This comes from vines averaging 80 years and blends 90% assyrtiko and 10% blend of Athiri / Aidani. This was fermented and aged in stainless on lees for seven months.
White grapefruit, green fig, mandarin, tight quince streaks across the palate, swelled with an effortless marine acidity, and kissed with salinity. Quite a smart, fresh, pure look at the island and assyrtiko.

Artemis Karamolegos is one of the most dynamic wineries on the unique island of Santorini. Led by his grandfather, who started making wine and cultivating vines as a hobby in the 1950s, Artemis founded the winery in 2004. They own just over 3ha of vineyards (some over 100 years old) across Pyrgos, Megalorchori, Exo Gonia, Akrotiri and Fira, and have long term contracts to farm another 5 hectares. This comes from very old assyrtiko vines (some of the oldest on the island), partially native fermented (10% in oak), where it remains for 8 months on lees. This streaks along the buzzy palate, buoyed with marine salinity, and vibrant with electricity. Green apple, white grapefruit, tight quince, and crystalline lemon are interwoven with salinity, long and taut, finishing with a humming echo of minerality. Such a striking, worthy wine, now and with time ahead.

NAT’Cool! Tinto Bairrada
Dirk Niepoort's NAT'Cool! range of wines were created to meet certain criteria : be made as naturally as possible, be low alcohol, be terroir-driven, use native grapes to the region, be affordable, and be so smashable that it's only sold in 1L bottles. This lighter, shining red is 40-100 year old baga vines from the limestone laced, clay soils of Bairrada. This was native fermented and aged in stainless, to preserve the purity of fruit.
Wild cherry, perfumed raspberry, crushed herbs teem throughout this lifted, fresh red, with fine, long tannins taking this through a saline finish. Such a charmer, and best enjoyed with a slight chill.

NAT’Cool! Branco
NAT’Cool is Dirk Niepoort's line of wines that are low-intervention, low-alcohol, available only in a 1L format, affordable, and highly smashable. This cloudy pét-nat ish Vinho Verde, comes from the sub-region of Lousada, and is a mix of Azal, Arinto, Avesso, Trajadura, and Loureiro, and vines 25-30 years. After beginning ferment in stainless, it was bottled with a few grams RS, so it could continue to percolate in the bottle, affording it a gentle spritz.
Lightly hazy straw hue, this streams meadow grass, green and yellow apple, gooseberry across the slight 11% palate, finishing with a grapefruit twist. Fun and fresh, as intended.

La Soeur Cadette Julienas
La Soeur Cadette
Juliénas
Born into a family of vignerons, Valentin Montaney sources grapes from across Bourgogne and Beaujolais for his negociant La Soeur Cadette wines. Valentin wanted to highlight the lesser-seen Juliénas cru in this bright and joyous red. This blends two sites, one on blue granite and one on sandy soils, with vines averaging 80 years. This was whole cluster fermented in concrete and then into older barrels for 8-10 months’ rest.
Perfumed plum, juicy raspberry floods a buoyant palate, with a fine buzzy granitic underlay. Tannins are long and fine, framing this fine boned wine through a scrubby herbal finish. Drinking beauty now. #GoGamayGo.

Valentin Montanet is based in western Bourgogne's Vézelay, where he is the caretaker of his parents' 22ha of organically farmed vineyards. In 2016, Valentin began a négociant business, creating the La Soeur Cadette range. This Chardonnay comes from his mother's organically farmed vineyards, with a higher proportion of clay in the limestone-laden soils. It was native fermented in stainless before being bottled unfiltered.
Bright and taut green apple, lemon, white flowers, and pear stream along the medium body, with a custard apple core, and stony finish. Great value for white Bourgogne.

Olivier Coste Illegal Mourvèdre
This wine comes from a small appellation in Languedoc, but 100% Mourvèdre is illegal there, thus, the winery declassified it to IGP and hid its origin. Destemmed grapes were macerated and fermented in stainless for 3 weeks, and kept there for a brief time before bottling in late winter.
Perfumed blackberry, boysenberry, and dusky purple florals fill the juicy palate, with sticky tannins to frame, and a dusting of peppercorn on the finish. Crack into with grilled sausages or tourtière.

Fitapreta Vinhos
Fitapreta Vinhos
Palpite Reserva
Palpite is Fitapreta's top wine that they make every year. This year's blends alicante bouschet, aragonez, castelão trincadeira, with 12% other indigenous varieties, all grown on Alentejo's yellow schists and granites and from vines 20-50 years. After a native ferment this aged 18 months in French oak prior to bottling.
Full bodied and muscular, with chewy cassis, dusky black plums, pipe tobacco working through the fleshy palate. Acidity is tart, and tannins are ample and dense, framing this through the peppery finish. One for grilled steaks now, or to settle for a couple of years.
"The 2021 Palpite Reserva is a blend of 35% Alicante Bouschet, 25% Aragonez, 17% Castelão, 11% Trincadeira and 12% others, all aged for 18 months in 20% new French oak. It comes in at 14.4% alcohol. Lighter styled, this doesn't show a lot of depth in terms of mouthfeel, but it is fresh and elegant this year, and it finishes with a burst of lovely fruit. Concentrated in flavors, leaning to red and black fruits, this is almost silky in texture and very graceful. The tannins are modest. Whether it can be something more than this with more development is an open question. It seems fairly ready to drink now—and pretty irresistible—but it will certainly improve over a year or two. It will need to prove its case for further plaudits, if it has one, in the cellar. There were 34,000 bottles produced. Drink 2023-2033.” - 90 points, Mark Squires, Wine Advocate, Jun 30, 2023

Donatella Cinelli Colombini
Donatella Cinelli Colombini
Il Drago e le 8 Colombe
The 8 doves on the label represent this groundbreaking female-led winery, while the dragon represents Donatella's beloved husband, Carlo. From Trequanda’s Fattoria del Colle, at 400m on hills of predominantly limestone and sandstone comes this Supertuscan blend of Sangiovese (60%), and equal parts Merlot, and Sagrantino. This was vinified in stainless before 18 months in large barrels and in 5-7 hl French oak tonneaux.
Perfumed florals, sun-ripened cherry, and balsam are woven through this muscular red, with ample chewy tannins and warming baking spice on the finish. One to pour alongside roast lamb / root veg.
"Darkly enticing, the 2020 Il Drago e Le 8 Colombe smolders up with a whiff of cocoa and tangerine zest before giving way to balsamic-inflected black cherries. It’s cool-toned and juicy, with tart wild berry fruits and inner herbal tones elevated by a core of vibrant acidity. This leaves a wild blueberry saturation, edgy tannins and graphite-tinged mineral hints to fade slowly. Despite its structure, the 2020 is more accessible than past vintages, though still complex. Drink 2025-2030." - 92 points, Eric Guido, Vinous, March 2026.

Domaine Duseigneur
La Goutte du Seigneur Côtes du Rhône
The name of this organic and biodynamically farmed cuvée refers to their family name, translating as "Drop of the Lord". La Goutte du Seigneur is an easy drinking blend of Grenache and Syrah, from 30 year old vines rooted in the estate’s clay limestone soils. This underwent 2 weeks of maceration in concrete tank with a native ferment, and saw no time in oak.
Crushed florals, perfumed plum, wild blackberry, and violets are woven through this fresh, medium bodied red, with long, fine grained tannins, and an easy limestone lofted acidity. Quite a smart, pure CdR.

This mouthfilling red is stencilled with ferrous notes, woven with wild plum, rockrose, wild blackberry, and scrubby Mediterranean herbs. Tannins are ample and sticky, hugging the sides of this full-bodied wine through the pink pepper finish. Fantastic value for this lamb-ready red.

Bodegas Sentencia

Lluvia Ancestral de Bobal
Alberto Pedrón comes from a long line of vine growers in Los Pedrones, a village of fewer than 200 inhabitants in the comarca of Utiel-Requena, Valencia. His most vivid memory from childhood is of the morning his father woke him before dawn to take him out to one of the family vineyards that had been freshly dusted with snow. Over the years, many of these familial plots fell victim to the “restructuring” of Spanish vineyard land, whereby old plantations were pulled up and replanted with higher-yielding varieties from other parts of the world. In 2006, a 6-hectare plantation that had been tended by Alberto’s father, grandfather and great-grandfather was similarly “sentenced to death”, and he decided to take action. To save the vineyard and, by extension, a way of working and living, he would resurrect the family bodega.
This ancestral method fizz is from 30+ year old organic Bobal vines, rooted in limestone. It was made without any additives, and disgorged February 2023. Tart and crisp, with perfumed pomegranate, rhubarb skipping across the light, buzzy palate, finishing bone dry with a stony shimmer. Authentic and modern view on this historic grape.
"The 2022 Lluvia Ancestral is an ancestral sparkling rosé produced with Bobal grapes. It's a young, clean and fresh sparkling wine with a dark pink color—as dark as their Garnacha red—with 13% alcohol and a powerful palate with abundant bubbles, flavors of red berry fruit and good freshness and balance. It finished fermenting in bottle, where it was kept with lees for seven months. 1,250 bottles produced. It was disgorged in April 2023. Drink 2023- 2025." - 90 points, Luis Gutiérrez, Wine Advocate

Arbois Trousseau
Trousseau vines (30 years old) were planted in Montigny-les-Arsures, on hillsides on the localities of Chagnon and L'Euvrin, as well as Arbois' Montesserin, in red marl and clay soils. After destemming (with a small amount of stems) this was native fermented with 15 days’ maceration before resting 10 months primarily in foudres and oak, with a small part stainless.

Brut Nature
Champagne Émile Leclère was founded in 1832, and is today run by 5th generation siblings Vincent and Marie. Based in Mardeuil, near Épernay, they own 12 hectares of vineyards, and 30% of their holdings are from the far west of the Vallée de la Marne, in Château-Thierry. This blend is the same as their Brut Reserve (60% Meunier, 40% Chardonnay), though with zero dosage, and this bottling is 63% from 2022, with the remaining from 2020, 2019, and 2018. It is fermented in stainless, and spent 30 months sur lattes prior to disgorge in December 2025.
The Meunier is at the fore, with baked red apple, anise, and perfumed florals, with the lemony drive of Chardonnay lingering on the stony finish. A friendly Brut Nature for enjoying now.

Xisto Ilimitado Branco
Ilimitado is akin to Seabra's village wine. This Branco comes from mica, schist, and feldspar soils (what winemaker Luis Seabra deems the best for whites), this is a field blend of Rabigato, Códega, Gouveio, Viosinho and more, with vines 30-60 years old, and at 400-500m in altitude. After crushing and destemming, the grapes are pressed together, native fermented, and aged in used French oak barrels for 1 year on lees, with no MLF or bâtonnage.
Perfumed pear blossom, gooseberry, green fig, and lemon are woven across the stony palate, tightened with grapefruit pith, and stretched long on the lingering, saline finish. Great energy here.

Donatella Cinelli Colombini
Donatella Cinelli Colombini
Brunello di Montalcino
From the organic Casato Prime Donne property, this Brunello comes from vineyards on the cooler northern side, around 225 m altitude, on soils rich in clay and silt. The native fermentation takes place in small stainless and bare concrete, after which it rests in older tonneaux and big barrels for at least 2 years, followed by a period of at least 6 months in bottles.
From the stellar 2019 vintage, this structural wine rolls across the palate with waves of crushed florals, sultry cherry, deep plum, leather, and dark cocoa, wrapped with ample chewy tannins, and finishing with a trailing dried florals and tobacco. Very harmonious, and will reward with some time in cellar.
"Black-cherry, lavender and rosemary-flower aromas with hints of spices and stems, following through to a medium body with firm and silky tannins that show integration and presence. Slightly chewy. But it’s polished and real. From organically grown grapes. Better in 2026.” - 94 points, James Suckling, September 25, 2023

Tinto o Iluminista
Now with a new label and name, this is the revamped FitaPreta Tinto of past. This characterful blend of Aragonez, Alfrocheiro, Moreto, Alicante Bouschet, Tinta Carvalha, and Castelão comes from the rocky schistous and granite vineyards of Alentejo and vines planted 1979-1989 at 300-400m. After the berries were popped and native fermented in stainless, they rested in French barrel over 1 year prior to bottling.
Wild blackberry, plum, and boysenberry flood the juicy palate, scented with rockrose and herbal scrub, and lingering with cracked pepper. Tannins are sticky, but well absorbed into the lifted red. A lovely characterful Alentejo.

Il Carnasciale
Il Carnasciale
Il Caberlot Demi-Magnum
One of the rarest wines in Tuscany, the secluded hilltop estate of Podere Il Carnasciale, in the mountains of southern Chianti’s Valdarno region, is the only vineyard to cultivate Caberlot. The grape is a genetic mutation of Cabernet Franc, with distinct characteristics of Merlot. It was discovered in Veneto by Remigo Bordini, and planted in conjunction with Bettina and Wolf Rogosky at the Tuscan estate in 1986, with the aim of producing something entirely different from the Chianti of the time. Though the X on the label may look the same each year, it's a different colour, and brushstroke, every vintage. This aged in French fûts and barriques, 50-60% new, for 22 months, and was racked only once prior to bottling unfiltered. The wine is typically bottled in magnums only (2000 annually), resting an additional 18 months prior to release. However, they release a limited number of ‘demi-magnums’ of 750ml, primarily for restaurants and importers.
Dark and fleshy, with wild blackberry, black cherry, dark florals, anise, wild herbs, and sapid thorns stretched long across a structural palate. Tannins are ample and firmly grippy / gritty still, starting to yield, but signalling a long life ahead. Drinking beautifully now, but with another decade easy. I
"The 2021 Caberlot is a wine of mind- blowing intensity, complexity and nuance. Red cherry, plum, orange peel, spice, licorice, cedar and new leather are some of the many notes that grace this exquisite, resonant wine. It’s hard to remember many vintages in which Caberlot has this much fruit intensity, aromatic explosiveness and freshness. It is a riveting, absolutely stunning wine from the Rogosky family. Even with all of its intensity, the 2021 is not a huge nor opulent wine, but rather, it is the wine’s energy and intense minerality that really stand out. I look forward to tasting this again in the future, as I may be underrating it. Drink 2029-2041.” - 98+ points, Antonio Galloni, Vinous

Il Carnasciale
Il Carnasciale
Carnasciale
Carnasciale is the second label of Il Carnasciale's iconic Caberlot, ready for drinking earlier and made with young vines, but with all the layers, and care, given to its big brother. Podere Il Carnasciale is situated in the southern Chianti mountains in the Valdarno di Sopra region of Tuscany, 30km north of Siena and Arezzo and 60 km south of Florence. True to original owner’s (Wolf Rogosky) vision, the secluded hilltop estate is run today by Moritz Rogosky, his daughter Carla-Elle and his mother Bettina, together with the enologist and winemaker Marco Maffei. This Caberlot, a naturally occurring crossing of Cabernet Franc and Merlot, is cultivated exclusively at Podere Il Carnasciale. After a native stainless start to the ferment, MLF is finished in a French 40hL botte grande where it remains for 22 months, before bottling and 6 months' rest prior to release.
Ample dark florals and lashes of cracked pepper meet wild blackberry and cherry on the fleshy, savoury, and supple palate. Ample tannins are very well integrated, and acidity is bright and buzzy. Structural yet very drinkable now, this is a wine to seek out.
"The 2021 Carnasciale is laced with dark berries, mocha, new leather, licorice and rose petals. This is an especially aromatic, restrained vintage for the Carnasciale in which aromatics are quite prominent, while fruit lies more in the background, buried by the wine’s structure. This really demands aeration or, even better, a few years in bottle. It’s a very serious, deep second wine from the estate. Drink 2026-2036.” - 93 points, Antonio Galloni, Vinous

Il Carnasciale
Il Carnasciale
Ottantadue
From the secluded hilltop estate of Podere Il Carnasciale, in the mountains of south eastern Chianti’s Valdarno region, this organically farmed Sangiovese is rooted in clay limestone soils. After a native ferment in stainless and concrete, this rested 14 months in stainless, and a few months in bottle prior to release. After a youthful puff of reduction blows off, this savoury red moves into black cherry, wild raspberry, crushed stones, with cracked pepper, mustard seed, and scrubby herbs. Ample grippy tannins take this through the lingering finish.
"The 2022 Ottantadue (Sangiovese) is gorgeous. Bright, floral and super-expressive, the Ottantadue shows the fresher side of Sangiovese. A dollop of whole clusters (20%) works so well here. The inspiration is clearly Beaujolais. Although an unusual wine, the Ottantadue is an absolute delight. The Ottantadue is fermented in cement and aged in steel, an approach that exalts fruit and freshness. This is such a beautiful wine. Drink 2024-2028.” - 92 points, Antonio Galloni, Vinous

Josep Grau
Josep Grau Viticultor
Volador Tinto
Josep Grau oversees 26ha of organic vineyards in Priorat and Montsant, at varying elevations and degrees of llicorella (slate), chalky clay, and decomposed granite. This Tinto is 60-70% Garnacha Tinta, 30% Cariñena, 10% Syrah from calcareous clays, native fermented and aged in concrete tanks for 6 months.
Scrubby herbs and broken stones imbue black raspberry, wild cherry, perfumed dark plum, and cracked pepper, with an easy lifted acidity, and long, finely buzzy tannins. A very pure and pretty expression of place and grapes.

Grüner Veltliner NATURAL
NATURAL is Fritz Wieninger's experimental range of wines, still biodynamic, as is his family's Weingut Wieninger. This is the only NATURAL wine done in stainless, and here it spends 3.5 months on skins prior to bottling without fining, filtration, or sulphur. This Grüner Veltliner comes from an old vineyard in Ried Gabrissen on Vienna's Bisamberg, a sunny south-facing location on loess, with high lime content and a prominent gravel band in the higher part of the vineyard.
Juicy and bright with white grapefruit, crunchy yellow and green apple, white melon, and crystalline lemon that lingers on the saline and white pepper finish. Lovely purity and energy in this slender white.

Chablis
The Vrignaud family, settled in the village of Fontenay-près-Chablis, have been growing vines for 5 generations. Guillaume Vrignaud started to bottle his first wines in 1999, and became certified organic in 2009. They have 28 hectares today. This comes from 30 year old vines in chalky clays. It was native fermented in stainless, with full MLF, where it rested on lees for 5 months prior to bottling.
White flowers, green apple, and lemongrass open this silken white, bedded with lees over a buzzy layer of river stones. This finishes snappy and bright.

Châteauneuf-du-Pape Matteo
From 50 year old organic vines off the Les Gallimardes parcel’s sand, gravel and clay-limestone soils comes this blend of 80% Grenache, 20% Syrah.
"Mixing 80% Grenache with 20% Syrah, the 2022 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Matteo has the edge over the Catarina from the same vintage. Expressive spice box, black cherry, licorice, cured meat and violet gradations are all nicely delineated. Ripe and well-integrated tannins provide good structure to this juicy Châteauneuf-du-Pape with a savory finale. Drink 2025-2037.” - 92 point, Nicolas Greinacher, Vinous, June 2024

Blanville Reserve Réserve
Blanville
Chardonnay Réserve
Château Haut-Blanville is a family-owned Languedoc wine estate that was founded in 1997 by Béatrice & Bernard Nivollet. Their 70 ha of vineyards extend across The Grés de Montpellier AOP, stretching from the Hérault middle valley to the Vidourle, and from the Mediterranean in the south to the Pic Saint-Loup in the north. Wines are produced naturally, without the use of any additions except a minimal amount of sulphur upon bottling. From stony clay-limestone soils, this Chardonnay blends in 5% Roussanne for additional fragrance and body. The Chardonnay is fermented in stainless steel and does not undergo MLF, whereas the Roussanne is barrel fermented with full MLF.
White peach, pear custard, pear skin, and white grapefruit fill the juicy, medium palate, with a lingering stony spice and bitter almond twist to close. Friendly and accessible now.
