Azores Wine Co.
Verdelho O Original
This is Verdelho o Original, aka Verdelho do Pico, indigenous to the Azores and Madeira. This is a different species than the Douro grape often called Verdelho, which is the Portuguese name for Godello. From volcanic basalt soils, and grapes 15 – 35 years old, this was whole bunch pressed, and native fermented and aged in a mix of stainless steel barrels and used oak barrels, with 8 months lees contact.
Unmistakably saline and mineral, with crunchy pear, meadow grass, white grapefruit, and fresh, zesty acidity, all rinsed with an alluring salinity that lingers on the finish. True to place.

Arinto dos Acores
Azores Wine Co.
Arinto dos Açores
Arinto dos Açores is a unique grape native to the Azores, unrelated to mainland Portugal's Arinto. These vines are planted in the rock cracks at the foothills of the volcanic mountain, almost touching the ocean. The vineyards are protected from the strong salty marine breezes by rock walls known as currais. This was native fermented in horizontal stainless barrels, where it remained on lees for 8 months.
Tart lemon, lemongrass, juicy grapefruit, and elderflower run the sleek length of this electric wine, buffered by subtly creamy lees, and finishing with a stony, saline buzz. A beauty marine swept white.

Livio Felluga
Livio Felluga
Pinot Grigio
Livio Felluga is one of the most respected producers of Friuli, dedicating his life to reviving high-quality and sustainable viticulture in the hills of this north-eastern, Adriatic-influenced Italian countryside. He emigrated from Istria and established his property in Brazzano in the 1950s, buying up old, neglected vineyards and rejuvenating them. From marl and sandstone hills, this was macerated for a short time (hence the slightest copper hue and grip) before a stainless ferment and six months on lees.
Perfumed pear skin, white blossoms, tangerine slide along the sleek, watery palate, with a gentle buzzy texture lingering through the saline finish. A gently confident grigio.
“A fairly neutral yet focused wine with delicate aromas of fresh pears, beeswax, flowers. spices and pepper. Light- to medium-bodied, very silky, refined and savoury, with Mirabelle plum flavours and a tight savoury finish with a touch of bitterness. Drink now.” - 91 points, James Suckling, 2024

Friulano
Livio Felluga is one of the most respected producers of Friuli, dedicating his life to reviving high-quality and sustainable viticulture in the hills of this north-eastern, Adriatic-influenced Italian countryside. He emigrated from Istria and established his property in Brazzano in the 1950s, buying up old, neglected vineyards and rejuvenating them. From Friulano’s Ponca soils (marl and sandstone), this Friulano was fermented and aged in stainless, on lees.
Perfumed pear blossom, mandarin, Asian pear sail through this sleek, medium bodied wine, with a crushed stone underpinning, and lingering meadow blossoms. There's a lovely completeness to this confident, quiet wine. Don't take it too chilled.
“Aromas of restrained stone fruit, peach peel, ferns, lemon leaves, flowers, iodine, stones and minerals. Very silky and smooth on the medium-bodied palate, almost leesy, yet balanced by crisp acidity, with tension in the long and savoury finish. Drink now.” - 93 points, James Suckling, September 2025

Terre Alte
Livio Felluga is one of the most respected producers of Friuli, dedicating his life to reviving high-quality and sustainable viticulture in the hills of this north-eastern, Adriatic-influenced Italian countryside. He emigrated from Istria and established his property in Brazzano in the 1950s, buying up old, neglected vineyards and rejuvenating them. Created in 1981, Terre Alte is considered one of Italy’s most prestigious white wines. The balanced blend of Friulano, Pinot Bianco and Sauvignon grapes grows in their Rosazzo plot’s marl and sandstone soils, in the historic Terre Alte vineyards. It was fermented in stainless, and racked into oak casks to complete MLF and age on lees until the following summer.
“The 2022 Terre Alte is impossible to ignore as a burst of crushed rocks and sage gives way to freshly sliced nectarines, lemon zest and mint. It is deeply textural, nearly oily in feel, with tantalizing acidity and masses of lime-infused pit fruits that envelop the senses. This vintage displays remarkable depth and concentration while maintaining balance, finishing long and potent with a salty infusion that keeps the mouth watering for more. Drink 2027-2034.” - 94 points, Eric Guido for Vinous Media, October 2025
“A very minerally wine despite its aromatic complexity and fruit richness. It shows Mirabelle plums, apricots, ferns, iodine, stones, flint, tuberose and fresh dough on the nose. Medium- to full-bodied with weight, a super-silky texture, refreshing acidity, ripe stone fruit flavours and a tingling, savoury finish that’s almost salty. Drink or hold.” - 94 points, James Suckling, September 2025

Illivio
Livio Felluga is one of the most respected producers of Friuli, dedicating his life to reviving high-quality and sustainable viticulture in the hills of this north-eastern, Adriatic-influenced Italian countryside. He emigrated from Istria and established his property in Brazzano in the 1950s, buying up old, neglected vineyards and rejuvenating them. Illuvio was created in 1998 by Livio Felluga’s children, who dedicated the wine to him for his 85th birthday. Unlike his signature varietal series, done in stainless, this blend of Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay and Picolit was fermented and aged in small oak casks on lees.
The lees bed is evident, cushioning fragrant pear, quince, and white grapefruit flooding the palate, all seasoned with gentle toast, and finishing long and stony.
“A complex and ambitious wine with toast, white and yellow fruit, grapefruit, pears and touches of caramel and butter on the nose. Generous on the palate, with a medium body and filigreed silkiness, yet it’s crisp and refreshing. Very good, tense finish. Drink now.” - 93 points, James Suckling, September 2025

Honeysuckle, mandarin, and lime blossoms lead the subtle, sleek palate, with a thin layer of stony lees to base, and a lofted acidity to carry this through the saline finish. Super smart, with a great presence and time ahead.
“Brilliant straw yellow colour. Expressive nose, reminiscent of pear and apple, followed by lemon balm and a hint of sea breeze. Juicy on the palate with an animating bitter note, refreshing acidity, salty, lingering finish.” - 92 points, Wine Enthusiast, October 2025

Bruno Giacosa
Bruno Giacosa
Barolo Falletto Vigna La Rocche Riserva
Bruno Giacosa was a titan in the world of wine whose reputation transcended not only Piemonte but all of Italy. Purchased in 1980, the Falletto estate is comprised of 13 hectares (32 acres) in the commune of Serralunga d’Alba. Considered by Bruno Giacosa as the best area for producing elegant and long-lived Barolos, the Falletto vineyard is southwest facing on steep slopes of calcareaous clay soils in an amphitheater shape. The estate features a single plot known as Vigna Le Rocche, which contains the oldest vines and produces wines that are vinified and bottled separately from the rest of the estate.
“Roses and lavender with other flowers. Peaches. Glorious fruit of dark plums and ripe strawberries. This is dense and intense but there are layers of very fine tannins, like fine cashmere. Goes on for minutes. Opens in the mouth. Almost endless. Three years in cask and two years in bottle before January 2023 release. Give this at least five to six years.” - 98 points, JamesSuckling.com
"This year's top-end release from Bruno Giacosa is the 2017 Barolo Riserva Falletto Vigna Le Rocche (in the red label). Bottled in 2019, the wine stands apart thanks to a hot and dry growing season that Bruna Giacosa is very excited about. In fact, she prefers 2017 to 2015, although the two vintages do share similarities. This wine is very open-knit, and it reveals dark concentration in the form of ripe blackberry, candied cherry and spice. The tannins show a loose, granular quality that adds considerably to the textural impact of this Riserva. Drink 2025-2050.” - 97 points, Monica Larner, Wine Advocate, August 24, 2023.

On Seven Estate Winery
On Seven Estate Winery
The Devotion Chardonnay
On Seven is a relatively new boutique Niagara winery owned by passionate wine aficionados Vittorio & Sula De Stefano. The De Stefanos bought an abandoned 7 acre vineyard (hence the name) in 2009 in Four Mile Creek, and under the guidance of consultant viticulturist and founding winemaker Peter Gamble, prepped the site for 3 years before replanting in 2014. The heavy clay loams are laced with calcareous deposits, and sloped north to maintain freshness. The philosophy from the beginning was to be 100% organic certified, and produce wines with minimal intervention. The Devotion is a barrel selection of The Pursuit Chardonnay 2020, and mixes Dijon clones 76, 95, and 96. This was whole cluster pressed and transferred to French oak barrels (25% new) for native fermentation and 20 months aging. The wines were coarsely filtered before bottling.
Shaped and sharpened with flicks of flint, this suave chardy drives along the palate with lemon curd, green apple, crushed stones, and toast atop a deep lees bed, finishing with lingering flake salts. Quite impressive, and serious, drinking now and with time in your cellar.
"Hand-harvested, whole cluster pressed, French oak fermentation (25 per cent new, 75 per cent older (neutral) barrels). Top barrels selected. Given the first pick of the barrels produced from On Seven’s estate vineyard, you can expect that The Devotion will offer more depth of flavour with an impressive creamy texture. But the art of the blend offers harmony and polish, too. A full-bodied and refreshing style, this suggests a satisfying mix of apricot/peach fruit with stony/savoury and richer vanilla/honey) notes that carry through to a lingering finish. Drink now-2032. 120 cases (1,440 bottles)." - 96 points, Christopher Waters, Globe & Mail

Familienweingut Sattlerhof Sudsteiermark
Familienweingut Sattlerhof
Südsteiermark Sauvignon Blanc
Sattlerhof is a leading producer in Austria’s South Styria (Südsteiermark), known for their benchmark examples of Styrian Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, and Pinot Blanc. The Sattler family has been growing wine in the village of Gamlitz since 1887, and they were one of the first in the region to bottle high quality dry white wines under their own name in the 1970s. Willi Sattler grew the estate to 40 hectares of organically / biodynamically farmed vines in some of the region’s most famous vineyards including grand crus Kranachberg and Pfarrweingarten, now joined by his two sons Andreas and Alexander. Their vineyards are centered around the village of Gamlitz, located less than 10km from the Slovenian border.
Crunchy tangerine, white grapefruit, lime zest streaks across the palate, with an ever so slight slick of lees to buffer the buzzing acidity. Snappy and singing, and an excellent introduction to Südsteiermark.
“Strikingly peppery, with a subtle flinty reduction, this Austrian sauvignon blanc is a true outlier—distinctly of its place and unlike expressions found anywhere else in the world. Eschewing overt ripeness and the typical green, grassy tones, it leans into texture and purity. There’s no excess, no adornment, just a lifted, mineral core that speaks of precision and restraint. On the palate, it’s vibrant and refreshing, offering delicate notes of white tea, grapefruit zest, lime, and a hint of sage, all carried through on a finish of impressive length. A memorable discovery. Tasted May 2025." - 92 points, Sara d’Amato, WineAlign.com
"Austria's southern province of Sudsteiermark is one of the world's great secret sauvignon enclaves. This is a very fine example from a leading producer, with lifted, well integrated aromas of nettle, grapefruit/lime, gentle evergreen and green pear fruit. It is light to mid-weight, lively and refreshing with dry, pithy and quite mineral finish. The length is excellent. Joy and comfort here. Tasted May 2025." - 91 points, David Lawrason, WineAlign.com

Domaine Vendange
Domaine Vendange
Chardonnay Montée des Crémaillères
Located in Combe de Savoie, on the foothills of the Massif des Bauges, Domaine Vendange stretches over 10 organically farmed hectares, on south facing slopes of youthful glacial till / limestone scree. The Vendange family has been involved with the viticulture and agronomic industries for many years, and are one of the largest vine nurseries in the region. After studying viticulture and oenology in Beaune, Benjamin Vendange returned in 2015 to the family property. With his partner Diane Gounel, oenologist from Languedoc-Roussillon, the step was taken to start their own estate with the family’s holdings. This Chardonnay comes from 25 year old vines, and was native fermented in a mix of stainless and 15% older barrels, with full MLF. It remains there for 10 months, with bâtonnage.
There's a lovely lemon freshness that pervades this brisk, slender chardy, with a well-placed lightly creamy lees bed to counter the mountainous slopes. The limestone scree is felt along the buzzing undercurrent, positively illuminating this medium bodied white, and sending it to a highly saline finish. Stunner, drinking very smartly now, and with time ahead.

Rufina is the smallest appellation in Chianti, extending across 750 hectares. This is 95% Sangiovese, joined with tips of Canaiolo, Colorino, and Malvasia Nera from well-drained, dry and stony north and north-west facing vineyards. These 15-40 year old vines grow in medium density clay and limestone at 200-300m. Fermentation and maceration occurs in stainless over 25 days with native yeast, before aging 75% in cement, 10% in foudre, and 15% in stainless.
Bright and lifted cherry, ripe raspberry is kissed with wild orange, and dosed liberally with flake salts. Tannins are fine and sticky, hugging this medium red to a gently spiced finish. A subtle and pretty Rufina, ready to enjoy now with fragrant mushroom dishes.

Josep Grau oversees 26ha of organic vineyards in Priorat and Montsant, at varying elevations and degrees of llicorella (slate), chalky clay, and decomposed granite. This Tinto is 60-70% Garnacha Tinta, 30% Cariñena, 10% Syrah from calcareous clays, native fermented and aged in concrete tanks for 6 months.
Scrubby herbs and broken stones imbue black raspberry, wild cherry, perfumed dark plum, and cracked pepper, with an easy lifted acidity, and long, finely buzzy tannins. A very pure and pretty expression of place and grapes.
“The 2022 Volador is a blend of 75% Garnatxa with 25% Cariñena and Syrah, sourced from Montsant. This ripe red wine presents faint herbal tones alongside sun-kissed black fruit and a hint of mint. Dry and juicy, it features a taut texture with a mild, lasting finish. Drinking window 2025-2034.” - 92 points, Joaquin Hidalga, Vinous, November 2024.

From Tenerife's volcanic soils, this is primarily Listán Blanco, with a mix of 10-150 year old native grapes Marmajuelo, Guao, Vijariego Blanco, Verdelo, Torrontés and Baboso Blanco sourced across various vineyards 300-700m in the Valle de La Orotava, and predominantly grown in the traditional cordón trenzado training system. After native ferment in a mix of concrete and older French casks, this aged 10 months on lees in foudres and older 500L barrels.
Opening with a quick swing of reduction that blows off to reveal a super saline white with oyster shell, crunchy green apple, lemon peel over a bed of river stones to a lingering saline finish. There is no way this could not be a marine, volcanic white, showing lovely sense of place.

It was macerated and fermented in stainless over three weeks, before resting one year in Slavonian oak barrels (50 hL and 25 hL), and French oak barrels (750L).
Wild cherry, dark raspberry, balsam flood the floral palate, with graphite and gravels rolling underneath. Crunchy acidity stream this along the palate, while tight, finely grippy tannins house this through the herbal finish. Ample Brunello fruit gets declassified into here, making their Rosso a hot ticket.
“Francesco Ripaccioli's first year working with the family estate was 2007, while studying economics. He travelled to the U.S. over 20 days, pouring 15 wines at 17 dinners and Rosso was five vintages behind. Dad was selling off the grapes and when Francesco returned he made it his goal to revive Rosso di Montalcino. Every bit of declassified Brunello is destined to find its way into Rosso and it is essential to know that Francesco Ripaccioli is a huge fan of this vintage. He will surely make (Brunello) Riserva from 2022 (and almost for sure from Vigna Mercatale). This is in fact a great Rosso but more important it marks a return to a Canalicchio Rosso di Montalcino, this coming a year after a 2021 that was just a little bit too much. This according to Ripaccioli but many will beg to differ. No arguing the aromatic volume out of '22 that stuns and a flavour profile of pure sangiovese seduction. Drink 2024-2029. Tasted November 2024.” - 93 points, Michael Godel, WineAlign.com
"A delightful expression of the DOC from brothers Francesco and Marco Ripaccioli. Polished, fleshy and plush with ample red cherry fruit counterpointed by hints of rose jam and pine needle, and bright, mouthwatering freshness. Lively and impossible to dislike, this is from younger vines on clay-rich soils, although occasionally some of the fruit from the coveted Montosoli cru is also included. The wine spends 12 months in a mixture of very large Slavonian oak casks and French oak tonneaux. Drinking Window: 2024-2032.” - 92 points, Jason Millar, Decanter, August 31, 2024.

Canalicchio di Sopra
Canalicchio di Sopra
Brunello di Montalcino
Francesco Ripaccioli is the third generation, along with his brother and sister, taking care of these lands. Francesco took over the winemaking from his father, overseeing the 19 vineyards across 2 cru, including their estate vineyards on the famed Montosoli Hill. This, their flagship Brunello, is equal parts Montosoli (galestro) and Canalicchio (brown clay).
From the stellar 2019 vintage, this Brunello charms with fragrant black cherry and black raspberry, structured with long, fine, firm tannins. This powerful, finessed red is seasoned with darker florals and scrubby herbal balsam, rosemary, and anise. Very elegant and well knit, finishing fresh and saline. Really striking, drinking beautifully now and with ample time in your cellar.
“Dusty violets, lavender and cloves accentuate dried black cherries as the dramatic 2019 Brunello di Montalcino smolders up from the glass. This is impossible to ignore, bursting with energy as depths of ripe red fruits, chalky minerals and exotic spices saturate all they touch, balanced by textures of pure silk. The 2019 finishes with fantastic length and concentration, leaving a staining of tart blackberry and hints of orange that curl the tongue as crunchy tannins tug at the palate. It’s rare to see such a combination of vibrancy and power. Canalicchio di Sopra nailed it in 2019. Wow. Drink 2026-2042.” - 96 points, Eric Guido, Vinous, November 2023.
"With a hint of candied cherry, grenadine or Shirley Temple, the Canalicchio di Sopra 2019 Brunello di Montalcino reveals purple blossom, dried flower, cough drop and balsam herb. The wine is very nicely stitched together with integrated oak that comes through in a structural way but not too much on the bouquet. The tannins do feel dry on the mid-palate, but they remain fine and tight. The alcohol is a bit high in this vintage at 15%. Production is 47,321 bottles. Drink 2025 - 2040.” - 94 points, Monica Larner, Wine Advocate

Xisto Ilimitado Branco
Ilimitado is akin to Seabra's village wine. This Branco comes from mica, schist, and feldspar soils (what winemaker Luis Seabra deems the best for whites), this is a field blend of rabigato, códega, gouveio, vioshino and more, with vines 30-60 years old, and at 400-500m in altitude. After crushing and destemming, the grapes are pressed together, native fermented, and aged in used French oak barrels for 1 year on lees, with full MLF and no bâtonnage.
Perfumed pear blossom, gooseberry, green fig, and lemon are woven across the stony palate, tightened with grapefruit pith, and stretched long on the lingering, saline finish. Great energy here.

Xisto Ilimitado Tinto
Ilimitado is a soil survey of the schist-driven terroir in the Douro, regardless of grapes. This year, field blends of grapes from Cotas and Ervedosa do Douro in the Cima Corgo were sourced, with vines between 35 and 60 years, planted in Patamares and large terraces from 400-550m, predominantly on loamy clays and yellow slate. 40% of the grapes were fermented whole cluster in lagares, foot trodden, with 8-10 days maceration. The remaining 70% fermented whole cluster in stainless tanks, with 20 to 30 days maceration. Both lots aged for 14 months in used French barrels.
Scrubby herbs, fragrant rockrose, wild blackberry, and juicy plum are woven throughout the medium palate, pinned by finely grippy / schistous tannins and lofted by elevation, finishing with a graphite ferrous kiss. Super smart snapshot, drinking beautifully now and with time ahead.
"The red 2021 Xisto Ilimitado has a clean, expressive, fruit-driven nose that is quite aromatic, almost floral, attractive and elegant. Made from purchased grapes in the Pinhão zone, it was vinified with 100% full clusters in concrete and stainless steel and matured mostly in oak of different sizes for 15 months. The palate is juicy and fruit-driven, with fine and round tannins, a soft mouthfeel and a velvety texture. It has a moderate 12.5% alcohol, contained ripeness and a dry finish. There are some 70,000 bottles of this. Drink 2024-2028.” - 91 points, Luis Gutiérrez, Wine Advocate, April 4, 2024.

Tenuta Fanti
Tenuta Fanti
Brunello di Montalcino
The Tenuta Fanti estate has belonged to the Fanti family since the beginning of the eighteenth century. It extends across 300 hectares in Toscana, 52 hectares of which are specialized certified sustainable vineyards, 110 hectares are olive orchards, 80 hectares are used for seed plots, and 70 hectares are forests. Made from 20-30 year old vines, this Brunello fermented over 25 days in stainless before aging 28 months a mix of French oak barrels and 3,000L Slavonian oak vats. The wine then aged in bottle for one year prior to release.
"Filigree complexity here with a multilayered profile, including balsamic tones, not so obvious red cherries and dried fruit, licorice, light camphor and fresh violets. Full-bodied, energetic palate with firm, velvety tannins and a chalky finish. Crisp, integrated acidity. Rich and vibrant, despite some warmth. Best after 2026.” 94 points, James Suckling

Silvio Carta
Silvio Carta
Vermouth di Sardegna Rosso
This non-fortified Vermouth is made with a base of 2006 Vernaccia di Oristano Riserva aged for 12 years in small, 90 year old Sardinian chestnut barrels. It is infused with a blend of forged Sardinian herbs, including elicriso, Desoleana sage, myrtle leaf, thyme, lentisk (mastic) & artemisia.
Its aroma is a complex array of herbs like rosemary, bay leaf, and pine resins with a layer of honeyed walnut and apricot kernel with hints of a saline sea breeze. Intense, soft and round, this carries layered flavours of herbs and ripe honeyed stone fruit, with a lengthy and nutty finish. Enjoy as an aperitif over ice with a slice of orange, or use it in a Negroni or Americano.
